At the 2017 Municipal Association Annual Meeting, Rock Hill Mayor Doug Echols received the Allison Farlow Award, the highest award given by the Municipal Association to honor a person within municipal government who has contributed significantly to the advancement of municipal government in South Carolina. Rep. Joe Daning(opens in a new tab) (R - Goose Creek) was awarded the Association's Distinguished Service Award, presented to an individual outside municipal government who has contributed to the advancement of municipal government in South Carolina.
