The Drug Abuse Resistance Education Association of SC(opens in a new tab) recognized the Springdale Police Department(opens in a new tab) as the 2018 D.A.R.E. Agency of the Year at the annual South Carolina Association of School Resource Officers(opens in a new tab)/D.A.R.E. Association of SC awards banquet.
The National Civic League(opens in a new tab) named the Town of Mount Pleasant(opens in a new tab) an All-America City(opens in a new tab). The award recognizes “communities that leverage civic engagement, collaboration, inclusiveness and innovation to successfully address local issues.” Mount Pleasant also won the designation in 2010.
The City of Greenwood(opens in a new tab) received a “Creative Partnerships” recognition by the South Carolina Palmetto Affordable Housing Forum awards for its neighborhood revitalization project. The project involved establishing partnerships, securing funds, removing blight and restoring neighborhood pride.
